In the context of the development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, especially Generative AI such as ChatGPT, Gemini, etc., and its increasingly massive use in academic writing, we convey several things related to the use of Generative AI in the preparation of manuscripts to be submitted to MUKADIMAH: Jurnal Pendidikan, Sejarah, dan Ilmu-ilmu Sosial.

1. AI Usage is Allowed: The use of AI such as ChatGPT and Gemini, etc. is allowed to help paraphrase, improve grammar, and enhance the readability of the manuscript. This is in line with the view that AI can be an effective tool in the writing process.

2. Limitations on AI Usage: The use of AI must be limited only for the purpose of improving the manuscript, not as a substitute for original writing or the author's original ideas (human-created material). The author's intellectual contribution remains the most important aspect of a scientific work.

3. Acknowledgement: Authors are required to explicitly include an Acknowledgement in the manuscript if they use AI assistance in the writing process. This is important to maintain transparency, academic ethics, and publication ethics. See the provisions and format in Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies. This obligation applies from the time this announcement is made.

4. New Policy: The policy regarding the use of AI has been updated and can be seen in the Open Journal System (OJS) of MUKADIMAH. The authors are expected to read and understand this policy (Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies) before submitting their manuscripts.

5. Turnitin Check: All submitted manuscripts will still be checked through Turnitin to ensure originality and avoid plagiarism. Turnitin has the ability to detect text generated by AI, so the use of AI that is not in accordance with the guidelines will be detected.

MUKADIMAH is committed to following technological developments and encouraging the use of tools that can improve the quality of academic writing. However, the integrity and originality of the work remain a top priority. With this announcement, it is hoped that authors can use AI wisely and responsibly.

Sehubungan dengan perkembangan teknologi kecerdasan buatan (AI), terutama Generative AI seperti ChatGPT, Gemini, dsb, serta semakin massif digunakan dalam penulisan akademik, kami menyampaikan beberapa hal terkait penggunaan Generative AI dalam penyusunan naskah yang akan dikirimkan ke Jurnal MUKADIMAH: Jurnal Pendidikan, Sejarah, dan Ilmu-ilmu Sosial.

1. Penggunaan AI Diperbolehkan: Penggunaan AI seperti ChatGPT dan Gemini, dsb. diperbolehkan untuk membantu parafrase, memperbaiki tata bahasa, dan meningkatkan keterbacaan naskah. Hal ini sejalan dengan pandangan bahwa AI dapat menjadi alat bantu yang efektif dalam proses penulisan.

2. Batasan Penggunaan AI: Penggunaan AI harus dibatasi hanya untuk tujuan perbaikan naskah, bukan sebagai pengganti penulisan asli atau ide orisinal penulis (human-created material). Kontribusi intelektual penulis tetap menjadi aspek terpenting dalam sebuah karya ilmiah.

3. Acknowledgement (Pengakuan): Penulis diwajibkan mencantumkan Acknowledgement (Pengakuan) secara eksplisit di dalam naskah jika menggunakan bantuan AI dalam proses penulisan. Hal ini penting untuk menjaga transparansi, etika akademik, dan etika publikasi. Lihat ketentuan dan format di Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies. Kewajiban ini mulai berlaku sejak Maklumat ini diumumkan.

4. Kebijakan Baru: Kebijakan terkait penggunaan AI telah diperbarui dan dapat dilihat di Open Journal System (OJS) MUKADIMAH. Penulis diharapkan membaca dan memahami kebijakan ini (Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies) sebelum mengirimkan naskah.

5. Pengecekan Turnitin: Semua naskah yang masuk akan tetap diperiksa melalui Turnitin untuk memastikan keaslian dan menghindari plagiarisme. Turnitin memiliki kemampuan mendeteksi teks yang dihasilkan oleh AI, sehingga penggunaan AI yang tidak sesuai dengan pedoman akan terdeteksi.

Jurnal MUKADIMAH berkomitmen untuk mengikuti perkembangan teknologi dan mendorong penggunaan alat bantu yang dapat meningkatkan kualitas penulisan akademik.
